CAUDALIE

In this article we introduce one of our team most favorite brand, Caudalie, and the 3 products we recommend the most to try.

Caudalie, the emblematic cosmetic brand of Bordeaux

Bordeaux is well known for it’s wine, but not much for it’s cosmetics… But did you know that the internationally famous brand Caudalie is from Bordeaux? Actually from the beginning the brand DNA is linked to vine: the parents of the founder of the brand, Mathilde Thomas,  have a vine estate near Bordeaux, Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The brand was launched in 1995 after Mathilde and her Husband Bertrand met at the estate the professor Joseph Vercauteren. He was conducting researches on the strong antioxidant power of the polyphenols contained in the discarded debris of the grape harvest (grape seeds).

Caudalie brand story

Since that time, Grape has been a key ingredient used in the brand cosmetics: grape seed polyphenols, resveratrol… As well as many other plant based ingredients. We must also mention that the brand have been a pioneer in “cosm-ethics” and is committed to offering the most natural formulas possible, banishing undesirable ingredients such as Parabens, phenoxyethanol, mineral oils or ingredients of animal origin.

Caudalie review: the 3 best products

Well, now let’s get to the heart of the matter and introduce their products that we like the most. It has been hard to choose as they have plenty of great cosmetics, but we ended up choosing three of them.

Eau de Beauté (Beauty Elixir)

The Beauty Elixir is a cult product of the Brand. It is inspired by the XVIth century “Elixir of Youth” of the Queen Isabelle of Hungary. It’s a facial spray with brightening and hydrating properties, made of essential oils and plant extracts such as grape water. It suits all types of skin but is particularly recommended for dry skins. It can act as an anti-dull complexion treatment as well as to glow your complexion.

The great thing with the Beauty Elixir is that, contrary to many skincare products that have only one employ, it can be used in many ways: you can use it as a toner, as well as a make-up setting spray. And of course you can use It throughout the day to refresh your skin and provide an instant boost of radiance. The travel size (30ml) can easily be brought along in a handbag.
