MAMAC

The Museum of Modern Art and Contemporary Art museum is located in the heart of Nice Old Town. Designed by architects Yves Bayard and Henri Vidal and built in 1990, the museum consists of four buildings connected to an arch and a bridge.

 

Temporary exhibition

There are several floors where each floor contains exhibitions with a certain theme. The first floor houses the temporary exhibitions, the second and the third one are reserved for the permanent collections. In the First floor there is a exhibitions by Harun Farocki's Parallele with the theme I-IV video game show. ( until 14 January 2018)

 

Boutique.Souvenir Shop

Inside the museum, you will also find a souvenir shop.

 

The exhibition spaces are distributed on two levels and an extra one with terraces for public access. There, you can see Yves Klein's art collection.

 

Collections Permanentes 

In the first floor, we found a permanent exhibition hall that consists mainly the artist from Nice

 

Le Laboratoire 32

This is the first Galery of Benjamin Vautier that has a theme, Paris «Tout est art? (Everything is art?) »

 

Benjamin Vautier is a famous artist who mainly have defines art. He created a neon acrylic plate with the transciption "How do you know if this is an art?"

 

Dauphine

César's artwork from Marseille on the French Riviera, South France. Dauphine (in the photo above) is César's first series of creative creations.

Yves Klein

MAMAC The museum's most valuable asset is Yves Klein, a French writer from Nice, a neo-realist artist.

 

Yves Klein has a special blue color called "international klein blue". it contents all dark blue color, and he registered that as his color patent.

 

He is also a famous artist, such as Marcel Duchamp and James Lee Bias.

 

TERRASSE

In the sky garden is located on the rooftop of the museum, you can enjoy the beautiful night view or the panoramic view of the Old Town of Nice. Walked through the arch bridge, you can freely through different buildings in the museum building, enjoy the 360-degree panoramic view.

 

Here you can enjoy Nice sunny weather and beautiful coast views.
