Upon entering you will feel like you have turned back in time to a 19th century tea salon. The restaurant is close to the Opera Comique and the Opera Garnier, in the 9th arrondissement. This tea salon provides a classic and romantic atmosphere while eating a delicious brunch in the heart of the capital.
The tea salon is inspired by the opera La Traviata so it has a baroque style and a musical atmosphere. It has classical style chairs, similar to those that would be used in a palace. Most restaurants in Paris only have brunch on Sundays, but here you can have it everyday, along with any of the meals during the day that they serve.
We suggest that you start with an orange juice or a natural fruit smoothie which contains season fruits like pears, strawberries, and oranges, without added syrup. There is also a large selection of organic teas, as well as cold, infused home made iced teas. Their fair trade coffee and traditional chocolate is a delicious combination. They offer their drinks in porcelain coffee cups that add to the level of luxury and make you feel like an aristocratic lady. A surprising bonus is that you can order unlimited tea, coffee and chocolate, which is already included in the brunch price.
To start your meal, you will begin with fresh yogurt with granola and fruits. There is also the alternative of butter, strawberry or raspberry, or other seasonal fruits, home-made jam with toast. And if that wasn’t enough, they also have three types of cookies to choose from! What a way to start a day.
For the main course, you can try their daily special. If you wanted to try various items, this is the perfect time because the daily special is composed of a combination of dishes. The Spanish chef, Ivan Alvarez, developed the menu a combination of what he remembered from his time in Spain, and what he has learned in France. There is a French quiche that contains leeks, broccoli, sweet camembert and pumpkin seeds, with a side of Spanish tortillas, a traditional Spanish dish, which contain eggs, potatoes and onions. There are also juicy stuffed tomatoes and gazpacho, a south Spanish style tomato and vegetable potage of which you can soak your bread in. And lastly, don’t forget about the salad!
After finishing your main course, next comes desert. The pastries are homemade with organic ingredients. Eggs from chickens that were raised in an open space.
If you want to add more unique tea-time experience, you can order a tea-time set which is available from 2 PM every day. A Tea Time Set for one person includes a pot of hot drink(tea, chocolate, or coffee) or iced tea, 2 sandwiches, a home-made cake, and cookies. Surrounded by its elegant interior, enjoying a Parisian tea-time with full of sweets and tea will give you an unforgettable memory.
If you have already had lunch before arriving here, don’t worry as you can order only the tea and still have a wonderful time. All teas are bio, and you have the chance to smell them before deciding on a tea. The teas are served with a homemade cake that has a beautiful design on top. Violetta et Alfredo are the characters in the opera La Traviata, and the names of many of their dishes are the names of characters in the opera.
Brunch everyday is a very rare thing to see in Paris. So for brunch fans, we suggest this restaurant for a delicious meal. They also hold a special event called ‘Gouter Musical’ almost every month, you can check the schedule on their website. The event is for you to enjoy the mini-opera concert at the tea salon while enjoying a special tea-time.
With the O’bon Paris’ coupon, you can get 50g of bio tea when you order 2 brunches, or you can get a 10% discount when you order 2 tea sets, lunch, or dinner.
