5 HIDDEN PARKS FOR AUTUMN VIBE IN PARIS

November is the month of the end of the Autumn, and one step approaching to the winter. In this beautiful and romantical month with falling leaves around, we would like to present 5 hidden parks in Paris which have less tourists there and the best for a promenade with boyfriend/girlfriend, for picnics with friends, or just enjoy the autumn vibe alone.

 

1. PARC MONCEAU

Located in the 8th arrondisement of Paris, Parc Monceau connects with a many beautiful boulevards in Paris. Had once been in the scene of film 《Paris, je t'aime》, Parc Monceau is also well-known by the rotonde and a ancient pavillon, which was built by the great French architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux in 19th century.

 

People enjoy the great time in the Parc Monceau.

2. PARC DE BERCY

Composed of three gardens in 12th arrondisement, Parc de Bercy is located right along the right bank of La Seine. While having picnics here, you could also walk to the Bercy Village which has many boutiques and a shopping center. The French film organization Cinémathèque Française, which holds one of the largest archives of film documents and film-related objects in the world and built by the very well-known architect Frank Gehry is also beside Parc de Bercy.

 

Parc de Bercy is rich of many genres of plants like the beautiful willow which is hanging down the pond.

3. PARC MONTSOURIS

In the 19th century, the Second French Empire intended to built four large urban public parks in Paris: Bois de Boulogne in west side, Bois de Vincennes in the east side, Parc des Buttes Chaumont in the north side, and then the Parc Montsouris in south. Parc Montsouris was originally occupied by a large stone quarry. Now people would sit beside the lake and enjoy the quietness as if it’s a gentil shelter.

 

Sitting in front of the lake, people talk and enjoy the tranquillity in Parc Montsouris.

4. PARC DES BUTTES-CHAUMONT

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, originally was a gypsum and limestone quarry, and regarded as a bleak hill in Paris. Until the 19th century, Haussmann picked this unpromising site as one of the major urban plan of Paris. Under his renovation and design, Parc des Buttes-Chaumont became the most bright and relaxing park in the north of city, and is known for the vast, steep beautiful grassland and the Temple de la Sibylle which was built on the top of the rock island.

5. PARC DE BELLEVILLE

You might come up with the picture of China Town when hearing of Belleville, the area which locates in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. However, just one mile away nearby, there’s a beautiful and tranquil park right down on the hill - Parc de Belleville. In the medieval time, the hill of Belleville was belonged to the royal as a hill of grape vine. Also, there was a bloody battle in the Belleville area with Russian army in the beginning of 19 century. Now the park had been well-rebuilt as a soothing and relaxing place where you could enjoy the quiet time and fresh air.

 

On the top of the Parc de Belleville you could overlook the view of whole city.
